I, like many of the beauty junkies living outside of the states, wanted to try Glossier for yonks, or at least the past two years. So not too long ago I decided to buy almost every product they had to offer, and I’m a little eager to do another order because of course, they’ve nearly doubled their range since then! And just for the record, I will most definitely cry tears of joy when Glossier finally ship direct to Australia, because using a parcel forwarding service was not cheap… but it was so worth it!
Haloscope in Quartz
I was sold on Haloscope as soon as I read that it was inspired by a “Krispy Kreme straight-out-the-oven glazed look”, and yeah, I may have been a bit hungry at the time. But this highlighter has to be an all-time favourite of mine! When blended into the cupids bow, cheekbones and inner corners of the eye, gives you that perfect everyday dewy glow, without making you look like a blinding disco ball.
Boy Brow in Brown
When it comes to brows, I naturally have pretty thick, dark eyebrows (thanks, Papa!) so I like to just make them look slightly fuller and set them in place. My personal favourite way of using Boy Brow is to lightly fill in any sparse patches with a thin eyebrow pencil (Model Co precision brow pencil), and then brush the brows up using boy brow. What makes Boy brow so good is that it doesn’t make the brow look harsh or feel crunchy, instead, it just adds a tint and leaves them looking nice and fluffy. I can tell you that running out of Boy Brow was a truly devastating moment.
Perfecting Skin Tint in Medium
If your looking for something with full coverage to give you flawless red-carpet-ready skin, then the perfecting skin tint definitely isn’t your cup of tea, but if you’re having a good skin day and just want a bit of a pick me up, it’s perfect! For starters, the Perfecting skin tint doesn’t offer any coverage, instead, it revives and perfects the skin to make it look more awake and healthy, evening out the skin tone a bit and adding a bit of dew, without looking like you have any makeup on. I like to apply a few drops to each section of the face and then blend it out with my hands and add a little stretch concealer where I need a little more coverage.
Stretch Concealer in Medium
I like to think of stretch concealer as the Perfecting skin tint’s little sidekick! Compared to most concealers it has a low coverage, but it works perfectly to add a little bit more coverage where you need it, blending seamlessly into the under-eye area as well as on any patches of redness, offering a nice dewy-fresh finish. This duo from Glossier is definitely my go-to complexion look, it’s perfect for the days when you just want that healthy glow without any fuss.
Tip: For the best application, make sure your skin is well exfoliated and hydrated, as they tend to cling to any dry patches… as I said, they’re for good skin days!
I tried four different shades of the generation g lipsticks: Like (pale pink), Crush (raspberry pink), Zip (true poppy red) and Jam (purple/berry). In terms of formula, these can be applied with one swipe for a blotted lipstick/lip tint look, or for a bolder look, the pigmentation can be built up with a few extra swipes, and they wear nicely throughout the day too. my favourites have to be Like, Crush and Zip, as they all offer a nice pink/red hue (my kind of shades).
Tip: When using the Generation G’s you have to be pretty gentle with application though, as the bullets can be prone to snapping under pressure.
NOT FOR ME…
Glossier’s priming moisturiser is the only product featured that I wasn’t a fan of, and that’s simply because I have dry sensitive skin. Upon application, Priming Moisturiser made my skin look nice and healthy, however by the end of the day I developed a bit of a reaction, with my skin getting all pink and itchy. After doing some research, it turns out a lot of sensitive skinned people had similar reactions largely because it contains retinol which can be known to irritate this skin type, so maybe this one just isn’t for the faint-hearted (or skinned?). With that said, I’m dying to try the new version for sensitive, dry skin, Priming moisturiser rich, as it’s pretty popular in the skincare community.
